"British Admiralty pattern Boatswains pipe, original Acme design 1870. Originally used for giving commands to the crew. Its high pitched notes could be heard even in gale conditions. Now largely ceremonial, it can be supplied with leaflet of instructions and historical details. Other special designs of pipe, dating from the last century, are also available in special presentational finishes."
